My family and I, have just enjoyed a fabulous meal and play at the Darlaston Inn, Stone.
Today was a little bit of a fun day/promotion day for Darlaston Inn, Stone and we were invited by them through the Donna Louise Trust. I suppose being a family of 8 we can say whether its a family eating establishment or not, and I am happy to say that it has a big thumbs up from 5 (and a bit) happy children and a thumbs up from a worn out Mum & Dad.
Of course it being a publicity day for them and us, we had to have a few pictures taken for the local newspapers, but this didnt affect any enjoyment by any of us, if anything it was quite chuckle worthy. Anyone with more than a couple of kids knows how much fun it is to try and get 6 moving targets to stay still and face the camera all at once. All the balloon animal props burst and deflated sending the kids into fits of giggles. 3 cant stay still for nothing, so I hope those pictures didnt come out blurry, they even got a picture of me and Mr Rilly too.
Simon the Manager of the Darlaston Inn was a lovely man, he seemed very approachable too, which I think should be a good quality for any manager. The staff were all well presented and friendly too.
After the pictures and face painting it was time to order food. The menus were user friendly and too the point. My bunch took advantage of the nice simple mix & match from the childrens menu, while Mr Rilly had a huge mixed grill. I had a salad…. AS IF !!! I had the most massive burger I have ever seen, with onion rings, mushrooms and cheese. The food took roughly 15-20 minutes to arrive. It looked delicious, and tasted better. Nothing left of any at the end, well apart from a massive mess left by us.
Then off to play in the Wacky Warehouse area. Not the hugest soft play area we have been in, but it was big enough. It was airy, spacious, not too cold, and clean. Plenty of climbing and swinging for all ages. A nice large TV for Mum & Dad to keep glancing at to stay off the boredom. A baby warming food station and nice clean changing facilities too. Again, the staff in this area were polite and helpful too.
Thank you to all the staff at the Darlaston Inn, Stone that made today very enjoyable, and Thank You also to the Donna Louise Trust for thinking of us.
